DAF Trucks is a Dutch truck manufacturing company and a division of Paccar. Its headquarters and main plant are in Eindhoven. Cabs and axle assemblies are produced at its Westerlo plant in Belgium. Some of the truck models sold with the DAF brand are designed and built by Leyland Trucks at its Leyland plant in England.

Daf Trucks have suffered several problems due to low-cycle fatigue of the turbochargers, according to a report published at autoindustrynewsletter.blogspot.com

"Daf Trucks in the UK appears to have suffered a spate of problems with turbochargers fitted to its 12.9-litre MX commercial vehicle diesel engines. According to Wilcox, the cause of the problem is low-cycle fatigue of the turbochargers’ aluminum compressor wheels. The weakness in the material is generated by cyclical loading and unloading of the impeller during repeated acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle."

"Ze beloven doorgroeimogelijkheden en dat je intern word opgeleid, maar zodra je er werkt hebben ze geen opleidingsmogelijkheden en geen personeel/tijd om je op te leiden. Je hebt 3 ploegendienst, maar word steeds in 2 ploegen ingepland, waardoor je salaris lager uitvalt. Er heerst een te hoge werkdruk.Speciaal busvervoerBeloftes niet waarmaken en te hoge werkdruk"

"Geen leuke werksfeer. Managers zijn alleen met zich zelf bezig en richting hun medewerkers benadrukken ze alleen het negatieve en nooit het positieve. het enige goede aan dit bedrijf is het salaris en de secondaire arbeidsvoorwaarden.salarisenorm slecht management, vooral bij IT"

Veel werknemers komen vermoeid thuis en hebben last van hun lichaam. Daf luisterd niet naar zn werknemers en gooit de productie alleen maar hoger......gezellige collega'ste hoge werk druk"

The hardest part of the job when all your efforts are not appreciated and you are forced into redundancy because management discounts the lower ranks of its staff and they are the first to be disposed off instead of thinking of craetive ways to hold on to valuable human resources particularly scientists. Loyalty doesn't count in this system."

"Mooie tijd gehad, leuk bedrijf met leuke collega's. Goeie verdiensten en vooral fysiek was het lekker zwaar op zijn tijd. Wel heel onduidelijk over hoelang je kon blijven en de bezuiniging van 450 werkkrachten vond ik ook heel schandalig aangezien ze 3 maanden daarvoor juist nog mensen hadden aangenomen."

"I am absolutely disgusted by the level of customer service received. After feeding my 8 week old puppy DAF food for a few weeks, I found a piece of black plastic in my food. I called up to complain, and the lady informed me that she would pass the information on to the manager and they would give me a call back. I then called back 4 hours later as I had received no response, only to find out NOTHING was relayed to the manager, Sarah. Initially, she offered to refund me for the order and said I could dispose of the food and do what I want with it. I advised her that she could come and pick it up from us, however at this point over half the food was already used. I asked Sarah if as a gesture of goodwill for our poor experience they would take something off the next order and she was very rude, dismissive and essentially called me a 'hypocrite' and 'cheeky' that I would still like to stay with them. I placed the order without any discount as I did not want to deal with her and thought that DAF are highly recommended, and that this was posssibly one poor experience. I then placed my next order and a DAF employee called to advise that the order would not be collected on that day as the van broke down and it would be collected the next day. I advised them not to as I had no other food to give my dog and carefully had to spend about 20 minutes before each meal to ensure there was no plastic in his food. Sarah then called me up, very rudely and advised me that I would have to pay for the food as I refused to return it. She then hung up on me very rudely after I refused to. I am absolutely shocked at the absence of customer service received and would not recommend using this company. We placed an order of different meats with the hope that there will not be any issues however after reading these reviews I will not be buying from them again. This company is rude, and very irresponsible. They did not even ask for a batch number or any information to do a recall of that batch, and seemed to think it was fairly normal to find plastic in food."

"I am not sure who you have answering your phones but they are losing you business with their attitude. On my last order (in March) you failed to deliver an item worth £25 and left a note on my invoice saying it would arrive the week after. I took this in good faith and it is now June and no sign of my item. I called your company and you say there is no record of my item not being included with the delivery. Unfortunately, I don't keep invoices for dog food so I no longer have the note. Regardless of this, you still haven't proved to me that the item left your warehouse and I have not signed any paperwork to say the item arrived. This is not the first issue I have had with your company. You also charged me for next day delivery and my order never came. Your response was to send the order 3 days late and STILL charge me for next day delivery. I will no longer be using your company as you have been incompetent, rude and short-sighted. Your customer service is appalling and your method of tracking orders belongs in the Beamish Museum."

"Agree staff are so rude I also dealt with Sarah the manager mentioned in comments below. Unmovable on issues that were entirely their fault. Brands like petsathome are SO quick to refund/replace, have the online chat enabled and are very nice. Never shopping at DAF again."
